About the Journal

The Asia-Pacific Research Digest (APRD) is the flagship research publication of the Eastern Samar State University. It is an international, multi-disciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that provides both print and online platforms for the dissemination of empirical and theoretical works on contemporary issues covering various fields, such as but not limited to: education, business and management, engineering, science and technology, information, communication and technology, including health, and other related disciplines. It offers a scholarly forum for knowledge exchange and idea propagation that have wider implications to and beyond the Asia-Pacific region. It is a duly refereed research journal with local and international reviewers who are experts in their areas of specialization and have distinguished background in the field of research and development.

Frequency of Publication

The APRD issues one volume of print and online research publication every year (every December). Special issues may be published contingent to the bulk and classification of articles submitted for publication.

Editorial Guidelines

  1. All intending authors shall submit their research articles to the APRD Online Journal System (OJS).
  2. Receipt of article submissions shall be acknowledged via email by the Editor in Chief or the assigned Associate Editor.
  3. All article submission undergoes technical review/evaluation by the APRD Chief Editor or Associate Editor.
  4. The editor in chief issues a technical review report to the intending author. In cases where revisions are required, the report shall indicate the specific revisions required from the intending author.
  5. The intending author shall be required to submit the revised article within a specific timeframe. Authors shall be notified three days before the deadline, with a grace period of 2 days after the deadline. Failure to comply leads to desk rejection of the article.
  6. All revised articles undergo second phase of technical review by scrutinizing compliance to the recommendations from the initial technical review. Once found in order, the articles are endorsed for double blind peer review.
  7. The double-blind peer review is a review process where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Local and International peer reviewers (with Memorandum of Agreement) shall be tapped to review endorsed articles.
  8. The peer reviewers are experts in the field and have excellent track record in research publication.

Formatting

Manuscripts must be typewritten on an A4 bond paper, double-spaced (including footnotes, references, tables, and legends). Papers should not be more than 15 pages with a margin of at least one-inch sides and shall contain at least 5,000 to 8,000 words.

Structure of the Paper

  • Title: To be typed boldface, this should be short as possible. The name of the author/s should come after the title followed by the official post (rank/position), name of the institution, and an active email for correspondence and ORCID.
  • Abstract: This is a synopsis of the study not more than 150 words indicating very briefly the nature of the paper containing the most pertinent findings.
  • Introduction: Must be brief explaining why the paper is carried out and what it is expected to contribute to the body of knowledge.
  • Methodology: Contains the materials/tools used, procedures, and methods employed for selection of participants, instrumentation, data collection, and analysis.
  • Results and Discussion: A concise presentation of the results with tables, figures, and plates properly labeled.
  • Conclusion: A concluding statement summarizing the findings and implications.
  • Acknowledgment: Optional. Only those who have contributed largely to the technical aspects of the paper should be included.
  • References: Only references cited in the text. All reference entries should be arranged alphabetically following APA 7th edition referencing style.

Retraction Policies

The author may have the discretion to retract the submitted article one (1) week after the paper has been submitted to the OJS. After which, the manuscript will be considered non-retractable once copies are forwarded to the reviewers.

Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses included in this journal will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or other parties.

Indexing

The APRD shall be submitted for indexing in reputable indexing bodies such as CrossRef, Google Scholar, Andrew Gonzales Philippine Citation Index, Philippine E-journals, and hopefully in Scopus.

Article Processing Charge

No Article Processing Charge (APC) shall be collected from the authors. The APRD publication shall be funded by the Research and Development Services Office of the Eastern Samar State University.

Publication Ethics

As a fully refereed journal, the rigors of scholarly publishing shall be maintained at all times. All involved parties, including the author, journal editor, peer reviewer, and publisher, are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.

Open Access Policy

This publication offers instant open access to its material based on the concept that making research freely available to the public promotes better global knowledge exchange.
